After two-plus decades in the music game, R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Tank is releasing what he claims is his final solo album in the form of R&B Money.

The new project contains 17 songs in total with a long list of excellent collaborations. Chris Brown, Alex Isley, Vedo, Feather, Rotimi, TVERSE, and Blaq Tuxedo make appearances on the tracklist.

Tank always showed he was a force in music. And his final album is a bit of a return to form. Unfortunately, the CD lost me with the last few tracks.

What did captivate me was the first half of songs on the album. True, genuine R&B, that we've been missing. I mean hit after hit after hit, it didn't seem to want to stop, until it did. A favorite off the album was the collab with Alex Isley, as well as the track with Vedo. both are done impeccably well and Tanks vocals meshed harmoniously with both artists.

Where the album began to lose me was when I heard more and more unneeded autotune on tracks that resonate with drum patterns, and 808s that are commonly used in the rest of today's music, mainly our Hip-Hop artists. The second half of the album seemed as if Tank was searching for a club-hit, and they continued to miss for me.

All in all, the R&B tracks that were slow and sensual, will definitely be replayed time and time again for the right moments. There are bittersweet feelings surrounding R&B Money since it does mark the final album from Tank.

Rating: 7/10
